PT/INR

The Prothrombin Time (a.k.a. Protime) test helps diagnose unidentified bleeding. When coupled with the International Normalized Ratio (INR), it is used to monitor the anticoagulant (ex. blood thinners, blood thinners) and its effectiveness in reducing the formation of blood clots.

Recommended for: Those who are currently taking blood-thinning medications (i.e. blood thinners) and for those who suspect they have a bleeding disorder.

Estimated turnaround time: 1 day

Additional notes: If you are currently undergoing anticoagulant therapy, it is recommended you get your blood drawn prior to taking your daily medication. Otherwise, no special preparation is needed.
